WELCOME DRINKS & DESSERTS

We’re kicking the weekend off with a fun get-together to greet and mingle with our family and friends at Luca Restaurant, a short 10-minute walk down Seven Mile Beach from the Westin. We’ll be serving small bites + desserts and drinks.

ATTIRE: ‘White-Out’ Resort Casual

Think all-white dresses, linen shirts, and slacks/shorts. Like a P. Diddy boat party in St. Tropez.

Flipflops, loafers & sandals all work (you’ll be walking down the beach after all)

HALDI CEREMONY

Time for a glow-up! Haldi is a pre-wedding ritual held the day before the wedding, where a turmeric (a.k.a. Haldi) paste is applied to the bride and groom. The yellow paste is considered both purifying as well as auspicious. This is typically an event for the close family but we’d love for any of our beloved guests to come and give us their blessings.

ATTIRE: Shades of yellow (optional). Resort casual/garden party. Indian or Western attire is welcome.

Kurtas, linen shirts, khakis for the guys, summer dresses or casual Indian wear for the gals. This will be on the beach, so sandals and other light footwear will be appropriate.

MEHENDI

Let’s get inked! The Mehendi is traditionally where Prerna as well as the women of both families (and yes, friends too) will get traditional henna on their palms and hands.

We’ll be there all afternoon with yummy foods, lots of laughs, beach dancing, and lawn games.

ATTIRE: Resort casual/garden party. Indian or Western attire welcome. If you’re coming from the Haldi, no need to change!

Remember to keep it light, it gets hot in the afternoon. This will be on the beach, so sandals and other light footwear will be appropriate.

SUNSET SANGEET

Bold, loud and colorful! That not only describes our Bride and Groom’s personalities, but also their Sangeet celebrations. Sangeet — literally meaning “singing together” — is a night of songs, performances, and dancing on the beach under the Caribbean summer sky.

Our Sangeet will be emcee’d by our siblings Riddhima and Pranjal so be ready for roasts and toasts from our hilarious hosts all night long.

ATTIRE: Bright, colorful, Indian party or Western cocktail attire with festive flair.

Bring out your boldest colors, sequins, and sparkles, it’s gonna be a lively party! This will be on the beach, so nice sandals and other light footwear will be appropriate.

BARAAT & WEDDING CEREMONY

Finally! This is the main wedding event where Jay & Prerna actually get married! It starts off with a groom’s procession, the Baraat. Join us on the beach at 9:00 am (sharp!) to watch Jay ride in style from the sea with his crew. Dance with them to the beat of the dhol as they make their way to the mandap (a.k.a. altar).

ATTIRE: Beach formal. Indian or Western attire is welcome.

Bright and light pastel colors are encouraged (try to avoid all-black or all-white) because it’ll get hot!

Long dresses or saris/lehengas for women in lighter fabric material is encouraged (linen, chiffon, satin, organza, etc) . Light suits, slacks, or Indian kurtas for men.

WEDDING LUNCH

After all that, you must be hungry! Join us on the Governor’s Lawn for post-wedding lunch with a Caribbean flair.

ATTIRE: Same as the baraat / wedding ceremony

WEDDING RECEPTION & AFTER PARTY

Time for the Grand Finale for our weekend of festivities. Join us back on the beach for the last few cocktails at sunset then over to the Governor’s Lawn as Jay & Prerna are introduced for the first time as husband and wife. First dance, speeches, toasts, and dinner will follow.

ATTIRE: Summer formal. Indian or Western attire is welcome.

Long dresses, gowns, or saris/lehengas. Suits and ties for guys.
